Amazing Promises of Our Lady of Sorrows to St. Bridget

After the promise of Eternal Life, I can think of no more desirable promises than those Our Lady makes to those who honor her 7 sorrows daily. Check these out…

Mary told St. Bridget…

1.  “I will grant peace to their families.”
2.  “They will be enlightened about the divine Mysteries.”
3.  “I will console them in their pains and I will accompany them in their work.”
4. “I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.”
5. “I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.”
6.  “I will visibly help them at the moment of their death—they will see the face of their mother.”
7.  “I have obtained this grace from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness, since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son will be their eternal consolation and joy.”

I mean, really… This is the JACK POT folks!

This is my third post relating to Our Lady of Sorrows. The more I pray this Chaplet (daily now…I refuse to miss), the more I am affected by the meditations written by St. Alphonsus de Liguori from “The Glories of Mary.” and the closer I feel to Our Lady and her Son. I FEEL like a member of the family. I FEEL like one of the women who followed Jesus, his mother and the disciples all around Israel. I FEEL like I am there, am known and am so close to them that OF COURSE all my prayers will be answered. So much so, that not many things even need to be asked and if I do, they are as good as done and I just need to wait to see it unfold. Because I pray this Chaplet every day, I am making perpetual novenas so I don’t need to make a special one and so it seems like ALL my prayers are answered all the time.

There is GREAT TRUST, a tremendous calm, a knowing. I am even beginning to understand how the second promise might even be able to come about.

The last time I felt like this was when I completed my Way of the Cross CD and spent so much time IMMERSED in the passion of Jesus, “suffering” with Him. This causes me to understand the quote by St. Albert the Great:

“As we are under great obligations to Jesus for His Passion endured for our love, so also are we under great obligations to Mary for the martyrdom which she voluntarily suffered for our salvation in the death of her Son.” After all, their two hearts are completely united.

I CAN NOT HELP BUT SHARE AND ENCOURAGE THIS TREASURE!! Yes, I know… the meditations are longer than others, but they are SO rich. The meditations are the POINT of the devotion! I pray it (listen/pray) while I am eating my breakfast, making tea, cleaning dishes, driving… Sometimes I have to break it up: 2 sorrows in the morning, two during lunch, one here or there, etc., it doesn’t matter. There is ALL KINDS of time during the day if we just make a purposeful intention to pray it.
